CELESTIAL BUDDIES EARTH ARRIVES AT INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION . . . AND IS INVITED TO STAY!!!
As you probably know by now, at 2:49 AM EST on Saturday, March 2, 2019, SpaceX launched its Crew Dragon Rocket toward the International Space Station. On board were “Ripley,” an anthropomorphic test device (a/k/a test dummy) named for Sigourney Weaver’s character in the movie Alien, and Celestial Buddies’ own Earth, which SpaceX founder Elon Musk dubbed a “super high tech zero-g indicator.”
A week later, as Crew Dragon was about to return home, NASA decided to allow our Earth to remain on the Space Station, to the delight of both the astronauts and the millions of people enjoying the photos they had been sending home.
We had no advance notice of these momentous events, and the response has been gratifying but nearly overwhelming. Unfortunately, Earth is currently on backorder, and Our Precious Planet, the new, larger and more detailed version of Earth that we had been suggesting as a substitute, is now on backorder as well.
Rest assured that we will fill all orders, in the order in which they were received, as quickly as we can. We hope to have a new supply of Earth later this month, and Our Precious Earth sometime in April. If you prefer, you can send us an email requesting to be notified as soon as these two products are back in stock. All of our other Celestial Buddies, however, are still in stock and available for immediate purchase.
We are sorry to have to disappoint you with these delays, but . . . we have never had one of our products launched into space before, and with no advance notice, we had no idea what to expect!
Thank you for your understanding.
Jessie and Jon
