Today, September 22, the Autumn Equinox will happen a 10:21 a.m. EST. This is considered the start of the fall season and begins the march to the winter solstice, the “shortest day” of the year! On this day, Earth is tilting away from the sun and the nights are longer. The equilux, when night and day are exactly equal, will happen on September 25th. The Northern Hemisphere will officially have longer nights until the Spring Equinox in March.
